I have always been content to "do" for 4 of 5. I am alright help her more than the others, still getting her dressed, taking her to the potty, buckling her car seat, or carrying her, because the dang kid wont wear shoes. I draw the line at feeding her, she can pick up the fork/spoon herself. Although, I will still put a bite in her mouth here and there, just to make sure she gets something in her belly. I know she will eat if we are having yogurt for every meal. But, all bets are off if it's anything else.Lately he has decided, she doesn't need help. her new trick, she wants to carry her own cereal bowl to the sink, like everyone else. Good, yes, bad yes. It never fails, as she is placing that bowl way up there on the counter, it spills. On her head, on the floor, down the front of her. I can't figure out why she does this. She's pretty good at learning through negative experiences. Maybe milk and cereal over the top of her head, is not as unpleasant to her as it is you or I.
Will this ever stop? I am guessing, No. Since it will be years before she is tall enough to see over the counter tops (thank goodness. One of the most dreaded days in the life of the parent, is when their child can now reach the things you place on the counter tops. Nothing is safe) or when milk on the head becomes very unpleasant. past experience has said, this may not happen.
And, IT could be worse, It has been worse. If any of you know 4 of 5, it has been worse. We'll tackle those "worse" things first, and worry about the little things later.
Spill Away.
Now, for my 3 of 5.
Some of my kids, namely 2 and 1 of 5, that will go put an outfit on, decide not to wear it, then put it in the laundry. many an evening 2 of 5 will say, "mom i don't have any pajamas to wear" because he puts them in the laundry after he wears them. Common, your sleeping. Unless you are running and playing and eating in your sleep. you can wear them the next night. So back to my point. Then there is 3 of 5. He's climbing out of the car this morning, to go to school, and I say, "hey, what is that all over your shirt" Well, It was catsup from lunch yesterday. why didn't I notice what he wore yesterday? Good question. I think this happens more than I would like to admit. He is my child, that will wear the same clothes, "his favorite outfit" over and over and over. Until it is so grungy that I have to pry it off his body, bribe him to change, or it gets up and walks itself to the laundry pile, because it's begging to be washed. My goal this next week. Be more aware of what 3 is wearing. I am grateful for is part in lightening my "load" but I will sacrifice. The kid has a drawer full of clothes he has never worn. and dang it, he Will wear them!

Miss S. will do that with her socks. She will wear the same pair for 3 days, before I notice and make her change. She is 7!!! But she likes a certain pair and wants to wear them all of the time.
Kids will be kids.... What more can I say!!
