Back? or Never Gone

I was planning on taking a longer break than 3 days. But a lot happened this weekend, and more than wanting to tell you, my loyal readers, about it, i wanted it documented. The whole reason I started this whole blogging craziness, was to journal the lives of myself and my kids.
It started out on Saturday with my 1st ever 5k. I would say it was wonderful, but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, i have found a new love in running. But, apparently i wasn't there, or listening well enough, to hear the instructions on where we were supposed to turn around. the more seasoned runners passed me as i was running toward half way and told me "way to go, you're almost there.... (to the half way point) and 20 minutes later i was thinking, "so where's this half way mark I'm almost to" I went at least an extra mile out, which makes an extra mile back too. I do a 5k in 23 minutes, it took me 50 to do this one.
I was wondering why i was starting to stiffen up after i got to the end of the trail. I can run 3 miles, and still feel like i could keep going, I'm thinking to myself "why am i stiffening up at 1.5. I guess street running is harder than treadmill running." My half way wasn't 1.5, it was more like 2.5. I felt like a cheater when i turned around before i thought i was supposed to, even though i should have turned around 1 mile earlier.
Feeling totally defeated, i get about .25 from the finish line, and here jogs Call. I was so embarrassed, i was walking at the end of my 5k. I felt a little better when she and Bishop were standing there when I realized what i had done. At least i didn't feel like i cheated, felt a little dumb that i misunderstood, but not a cheater....

All in all, i will run again. Next time, i will put on my listening ears, or run a race that is better marked. And i would say that i can run a 10k now, but my shins hurt SO bad. I thought it was shin splints at first, but after reading about them, i think I just have sore muscles.
Then today was 4 of 5's first day of school.
I went from counting down the months, weeks, days and hours, to not wanting to take her back. There are 14 kids in her class. And it is made up of 3 and 4 year old. Poor kids got trampled by the same 4 almost 5 year old 3 times. She's slower and less coordinated. How are they going to take her potty if there are only 2 teachers. I have a million reasons to keep her home this year. but a really good one to send her. She needs it. It will benefit her. So I will worry about her from home. And wonder if she's okay.... from home. And yes, we got the bus situated, they will pick her up and drop her off. Husband took care of that for me.
