Saturday is a Special Day.....

It's the day we get ready for Sunday day.
Today I have accomplished-
12 pint of tomatoes
7 quarts
7 quarts of spaghetti sauce

My kitchen floors
3 loads of laundry
a little shopping (I found 4, 3 lbs bags of walnuts on clearance for 3 bucks each)
Not accomplished, the run I wanted to do this morning. Still willing to go with you Call, if you're up to it.

Why the milk picture? I was just a bit amazed at the fact that we had 5 gallons of milk in the fridge, and we will drink it. Have we really gotten there? I remember not to long ago, 1 gallon would last us 2 weeks. We aren't even close to the peak. I need a cow. I have figured out how to cut back spending on everything except milk. And I refuse to drink powdered milk. It brings up horrible childhood memories.

So today I am grateful for the opportunity to serve. The tomato's I am doing are a neighbors. Her husband just had surgery, and she was overwhelmed. And, these needed to get done. I think we salvaged 50lb before it froze. I love to bottle, and I am grateful I can help others while I am doing it.

And for my DS tidbit. Today it's just a story. I spent the day up at Primary's with 5 of 5 yesterday. While there I met a cute little girl who had a cute mom getting tube too. She was probably 18 months. I just love how these kids attract people to them. Everyone said hi to her. (yes, some just stared, but I imagine they will get to a place that it won't be so foreign) For the most part people are very accepting and understanding. People don't stare to be rude. in most cases, don't call them "R" to be disrespectful. (I won't say it because I know it rubs some people the wrong way) Mostly, people are compassionate, and understanding, and accepting. Sometimes, they can even feel love for them immediately upon meeting, just because of the sweet spirit they have. All kids, all disabilities, bring out who people really are. Some it's not pleasant. Most often, it is amazing.

How long does it take you to go through 5 gallons of milk? We don't just drink it but we go through 4 in 2 weeks. I know I can't get all that stuff done in one day so now I feel lazy and underachieved.
