So as you can see, feeding my kids is a carefully tuned balancing act. Most every night one of them goes hungry. But, I refuse to feed them fast food/ boxed food/ candy every night. Anyone have something that works for you?????

We have a few dinnertime rules:
1. you have to sit at the table
2. you have to put a little of each food on your plate
3. you may not say mean things about the food

I don't force them to eat anything, but I find they eventually try whatever we are having and usually like it.

Yeah, saying mean things makes it so you have to eat the whole serving of whatever you just bashed. And no "i hate" this comments.

I agree, it's a science getting all the kids to like the same stuff. I always thought that boys were better eaters, but my one boy is pickier than all three girls! If it even resembles something green, he balks at it. SO frustrating.
Glad I found your blog! Cute kids!

Your kids sound exactly like my kids. My rule is they have to try one bite of everything and then if they do that and don't like it then they can have a plain piece of whole wheat bread. I figure that is as healthy as anything they could have for dinner.

I have the same problem with the hubby and the little. They are both picky eaters and like opposite things. Doesn't it drive you crazy?!! I took J to the dr. last month and he gave us a rule to follow. He said something like this: your home is NOT a cafe. Do not make something special for everyone...Cook what you want and they'll eat it if they are hungry and if they don't want it right then...put it in the fridge and give it to them when they are finally hungry enough to eat it.

Sounds nich huh? It's not a cure all but maybe that will help. :)
