I took 5 of 5 into the dr. yesterday to get her ears looked at because she had spent the past 2 nights screaming. No, no ear infection, just a red throat. But, it dawned on my while I was there that 4 of 5 had this rash on her rear end, and I should get that looked at. Turns out she has a staph infection. She's had one before in that same area, but that didn't click until he said staph. So I'm off to get another round of augmenton for her. He told me to keep my eye on it because if it didn't clear up immediately, we'd need to get it checked for MRSA.
I also decided to get her oxygen levels checked, because we were there, and she had a stuffy nose for a few days. I told the nurse, you have to use her middle finger, her index finger doesn't pick up as well. So we get he hooked up, and she uses her index. 79-85. The nurse looks worried. So I tell her, just stick it on her middle finger. Low and behold.... 100. Way to go middle finger!

We are sorry to hear that you are also battling staph - it is not fun - it looks painful and yucky. I bet she doesn't like sitting down on a sore bottom.
And congratulations on #6 - that is exciting!

I hoope she doen't have MRSA. My friend had knee surgery in Dec. and just found out she has it. She has to be on bed rest, and on IV antib's (they had to place a PICC line) for the nest six weeks. It's been terrible for her. How did your little one get the infection? I hope she feels better soon.
