She's the Perfect Mom

I have been hearing the term "Perfect Mom" a lot lately in reference to different people. It got me thinking, what is the perfect mom. What qualifies you as a perfect mom. In my research, one Friend said the people that that are least vocal about their imperfections were the ones people call perfect moms. Okay, I can see that. Another friend said it was the moms that cook, sew garden, and have lots of kids. But, i think that i see perfection in different things in different people. Some people are very organized, some garden, some have the most well behaved kids i have ever met. Some have spot less homes, some give their kids perfect hair cuts. Not one of us does all of these things perfectly.

Then i ran across this talk by Faust, and realized, We are ALL perfect moms. when we are busier finding the qualities we love about our friends spouse and children, instead of their faults, We qualify as a Perfect mom. If we are keeping up with the things that are important to us, and finding joy in our calling as mom, we are a perfect mom.

"Some of you sisters may feel inadequate because you can’t seem to do all you want to do. Motherhood and parenting are most challenging roles. You also have Church callings that you fulfill so capably and conscientiously. In addition, many of you, besides all this, have to work as well as care for your family. .... In general you noble sisters are doing a much better job of holding it all together and making it work than you realize. May I suggest that you take your challenges one day at a time. Do the best you can. Look at everything through the lens of eternity. If you will do this, life will take on a different perspective."

Love it. I'm one of those moms who's always saying that I shouldn't be a mom, but I love how different we are! My sis was saying today that there are so many different types of "perfect mom" because each kid needs different things!

I agree with everything you said. So many times we think people have "the best life" but if we only really knew them and their trials. It's good to step back and get some real perspective of what motherhood is really about---love.
