Perfection
This picture has nothing to do with this post, but this is what Trent brought home Wednesday, from YM. It's called a Jerusalem Cricket. Never seen one of these before, apparently we have a lot of them here?
I'm sitting here with a not quite sleeping baby, kids are fed, I'm up, baby gave me a 4 hr stretch last night, and I actually feel good. I am contemplating going to church. Do I dare? 6 kids? The thought scares me. But really, why not. Okay, I have a list of why nots. #1 on that list 4 of 6, #2 on the list 5 of 6. I guess I should put 6 of 6 on that list to, but that is where the title comes from. She has been the easiest baby. Almost perfect as far as babies go. No reflux (I have had 2 with sever reflux, 2 with mild), I can even eat chocolate (never been able to do that with any of them)..... No colic. ( I won't name names, 5 of 6) She just eats and sleeps. Besides the stupid bili lights, which are working..... she has been perfect. Speaking of lights. Her biliruben peaked on day 8, then started coming down. But very slowly. Like slow enough the ped wants to do a full panel on her, I'm sure to see if her red blood cells are damaged. More pokes. But, I'm feeling confident about her bili levels, she almost looks pink. Still has the yellow hue, but more pink. The dr. mentioned wanting me to supplement, because she took off an oz (after putting on 3, in 2 days) But, I'm can't do it. I hate formula, and bottles, and she is not a terrific nurser, so I am not going to jeopardize what we have so far. So unless, she still dropping on Monday, I am not going to. Yes, we get to go back in for more test and heel pokes. I wish we could wait until Thursday, when we have to go PKU anyway. Her poor heels look like hamburger, and I know it hurts, she starts crying as soon as they wipe her heel with the cold alcohol swab.

Good for you in continuing to nurse. I'm sure she will bounce back fine. And don't go to church! Not yet...
Poor baby. I'm glad she's letting you sleep a little and her levels seem to be going down.
