So, my husband loves ties. I mean, really really loves ties. He gets at least 1, every DI trip. My girls have discovered a few things lately, while I feed the baby. One of which, is his tie collection. I knew they were up to something, it was quiet. But you can't do anything with a baby attached. This is what I found. Yesterday, it was 5 of 6's clothes strewn all over her bed room. Can't they just color. Not on the walls? Or play with blocks, and not throw them. Or read books, and not fight over the same book. I can totally manage 5 and 4 of 6, when they are single. But you put them together, and it's a whole different story. I'm hoping to get a better routine down in the next 2 weeks or so. I NEED routine.Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Incomplete
SO after looking over the post from yesterday, I noticed, only half of what I posted, actually posted. So what I was saying, was it was nice to not have to worry about how much time the baby was getting under lights. After last night, however, I have learned the down side to not having the lights. She was used to them. So, she was restless last night. SHe only slept more than and hr if she was sleeping on me. The end result, a tired me, and a sore neck. Nothing a little Ibuprofen didn't take care of, but it didn't touch the tired. I did get the swing out, and she seems to like that. We'll see how she does tonight. I really don;t mind getting up with her in the middle of the night. After 5 kids, you don't have the 1 on 1 time with the baby, unless you get up with them at 1, 3 5 and 7. Before the other kids are up. I can usually keep this up for about 6 weeks.

Hey Kelli! Congrats!!! I have been thinking about you so much lately and wondering how you and your sweet baby are doing. I've been a little remiss on blogs lately. Anyway, glad to see everything went well and that she is off the bili lights! Those are such a pain. Hope you get caught up on sleep. Love you guys!
One thing about jaundice is that it makes the baby really sleepy. Now that her jaundice is under control she is not going to be so drowsy. I'd blame it on that more than not being on the lights. I am sending good wishes your way for the next few months. I go a little crazy (or maybe a lot crazy) those first few months with all the chaos and lack of routine and structure. YOu have so many little ones right now and definitely have your hands overly filled. Just remember that it gets better with time. It usually takes me 6 months to feel like I can function again. Hopefully it will be sooner for you. Big hugs!
Oh my gosh, it's tie haven. Hopefully she'll enjoy the swing in long stints so you can get stuff done and hopefully maybe move it into your bedroom and she can sleep there. My babies have all slept in the swing for the first 6-8 weeks because they have to be elevated. Jon still has to sleep on my chest so I constantly have a sore neck, now I've just learned to prop a pillow under my arm to make me more comfy and he doesn't "roll" anywhere ;-) I feel for you and hope it won't take long for her to adjust to not having the bili lights.
