Today was also 4 of 5's first day of preschool. It was frustrating because I called the busing service, because I hadn't heard from them and they call the day before they come to tell you what time they will be there. I never heard from them. So I called this morning and asked if we were on the list, and what time they would be here. She confirmed she was on the list and to be ready about 12"30. I got 4 of 5 out side about 12:15, just to make sure we didn't miss the bus. By 1 pm there was still no bus. So I call the transportation service again and asked where the bus was. The man calls the bus driver and she tells him she's done for the day, and that she tried to call me yesterday. He confirms they have the right number and address, and asks if I have an answering machine. Yes, I do, no there was no message, or number on the caller ID. So I take her to school. Luckily my mom is here, so I didn't have to wake 5 of 5 up, and take a screaming baby. When I get there, the teacher says the bus driver didn't have 4 of 5 because she wasn't out side when she drove by. Um no, you have the right address, and phone number, and no you did not drive by. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow.....Wednesday, September 9, 2009
Day 6
We are now at day 6. Some moments feel like I've had her for a day, some moments I feel like she's 6 months. It's been hard to have her on the bili lights, with no end in sight. We took her in a day 5, thinking she looked much less yellow, only to find out her levels went up. So when I look at her today, and think, she's toning down, I don't get my hope up. Maybe it's just me, getting used to the yellow. We will take her in tomorrow, and hope for numbers holding at 17, or getting smaller. I would love to get rid of the blue glow in my room, and be able to just hold her. Or put her in the swing after I'm done holding her, instead of a humming blue bed. She dropped down to 7 lbs 3 oz at her 4 day check, but since then has decided that she is getting the hang of this eating thing, and has become quite fond of it. I wish that, like with typical jaundice, that meant she was on the mend.

Oh what a nightmare with the bus. Hopefully they'll pick her up tomorrow so you won't have to deal with that again. Lucy doesn't look that yellow to me in that picture but I do hope that her levels go down and she won't have to have the light treatment for much longer. What a cute baby!
