I called my sister Thursday and had her post that I had to stay after a NST. I had the feeling it was going to happen when I walked up the steps to the hospital. Especially since I had a load of laundry in the machine, a sink full of dishes, and didn't have the chance to bathe my kids the night before. I got all hooked up on the machine for the NST, and although the baby's heart sounded great, my fluid had gone from a 13 to a 9.8 to that week, a 6.5. All signs that my placenta wasn't working as well as it should, and a casualty a GD. The nurse called my dr. my dr. called the hospital admit, and I called Trent and my MIL, and things got rolling. I was admitted and started on penicillin for GBS and at 3:30 after the 2nd does of penicillin was started the resident came and broke my water. The kid looked like he was 20. Contractions start getting painful about 4, and I can feel them in my back. After 2 previous posterior babies, I know what is coming. My dr. suggests an epidural, because she said, it would relax me enough for the baby to turn. I said okay, and they send for the guy. He comes in about 5 and has me sit up, and I feel like I need to start pushing. I get a shot of fentanol and the guy places the epidural, gets a low dose in, because I told him I didn't even really want one. He didn't even hook it up, he just gave me a low dose, because I was feeling like I needed to push anyway. They call my dr. at 5:15 because when I lay back down, and get checked I was at a 9 1/2. So I wait, 5:30, 5:45, 6.... Um, I REALLY need to push. So my nurse went and got the resident, the same 12 yr old that broke my water, and I start pushing. It is absolutely painful, and I don't feel like I am making any progress. HMMM oddly reminiscent of my past delivery. My dr. shows up about 10 minutes later as she's crowning, and delivers Lucy Mae. She's a whopping 8 lbs even. 1 of 5 was 6 12, but the rest of them have been 9+ and 5 of 5 was 9 14 and backwards.
So we officially have 6 of 6. It may take me a little while to get on board with their new names. So forgive me if I slip. After all is said and done, I miss being pregnant, but I absolutely LOVE her. And, don't tell Trent, but I would totally do it again.
She has what is called Coombs positive, so she is at a higher change of a dangerous jaundice level, and is on the lights right now. It's hard to keep her there, because I want to carry her. And she is not my greatest nurser, which is bad, because she needs to eat to clean the biliruben out of her liver. I've already called our neighbor to try too feed her for me, because I don't do bottles. gratefully I have the greatest neighbor ever, (they are probably wondering why they moved in next to us, we've asked them to water our garden feed our animals, and now feed our baby. Man we are needy. ) Luckily she latched on right before I went over. The problem with jaundice is that they also get tired, which is really bad when your milk is coming in, and it's work to eat. It kind of freaks me out, because we had this SAME exact problem with 3 of 5, but we ended back up at Primary's with a jaundice level of 24. 25 is transfusion level. If I could get my milk in, and her have enough energy to eat, we should be fine. I absolutely adore her. And I am happy we had a girl.

What a great birth story! I love how the doctors keep getting younger and younger (couldn't possibly be that we are getting older and older. No Way!)
And I love that you admit you would do it all again. Ever since I learned your lucky # is 7 I just knew you needed 7 children! Easy for me to say! :)
Congratulations. I love her name and she is a beautiful girl!
I hope she gets the hang of nursing soon! I'm glad you're both doing well and that your delivery was free from any major complications. I cannot believe that you're already missing being pregnant. I'm still not missing it and my baby is 5 months old!
Congrats.
Great Job, Kelli! Congrats. Phooey on the staff for making you wait to push, but I admire your patience LOL.
Yay for more girls and good luck with the jaundice. Only one of mine hasn't had it :(
I am so excited for you, she is beautiful!!
Congratulations! She is a beautiful girl!
Congratulations! I love Lucy Mae - that's what I voted for :) I'm sorry about your crazy delivery, sounds like it wasn't ideal, but awesome job bringing another beautiful baby into the world! I'm excited to see her in person - even if it will probably be in a year or so!
Congrats - she's beautiful!
