I got my first picking of peas! My favorite veggie from my garden. I thought i planted enough plants to be able to freeze some, but it looks like its going to get HOT and stay hot. So, no great bounty of peas this year. When that happens i usually say I'll do a fall crop of peas. Well, by fall, I'm so done with my garden, the last thing I want to do is go put more in the ground. Maybe I'll do what my father -in- law did last year, and plant them in Oct. so they will just come up when it starts to warm, then i will have gotten a few pickings before June. I thought i got them in soon enough this year, maybe the cool Spring didn't push them hard enough. So, now I'm hoping it cools down about 5-10 degrees so my peas will start getting flowers on them again. On the other hand, our tomatoes, corn, beans, peppers, carrots, beets, squash, pumpkins and melons are loving the heat. The lettuce... not so much.
Happy Gardening!

I'm so jealous. My peas are coming along, but none to eat yet
