It's very quiet/ free recipe friday 8 (i think)

It's the early morning.... on the last day of school. I'm mentally preparing myself for a long 6 weeks of no school. Honestly, i'm feeling a little excited. I have never been excited for summer break. What do you do with your kids all summer long. I don't like to be busy going and going all day long. I am a home body. I like to be in my home where naps are easily accessible, and if my kids are having an "off" day, i don't have to worry it effecting anyone else, or have to get after them in public. We have signed up for swimming lessons, and i love the park lunches, they feed them way better than i would. Plus, i think we will work on penmanship this summer. My kids could all use some help with their printing. I guess 6 weeks isn't that bad. I've heard a lot of people say they hate year round. I actually have grown to love it. Now, if we could just talk the school district into doing it with out those pesky 2-3 week long breaks in the middle of the year.
This picture is of my sisters visit this week. That is her son who is 17 days younger than 5 of 5. I didn't think they looked anything alike until i saw this picture. There is a resemblance in the eyes. I'm really big on the way families look like each other. I think it's the coolest thing when you have a kid that looks like one of your cousins. Or, 1 of 5 looked like her aunt when she was younger......
I think it's amazing.

I took 4 of 5 in for her pre school evaluation yesterday, and every one there kept commenting on how long 5 of 5 was. When i took this picture, it reminded me of...

this picture of 2 of 5 at 22 months and 3 of 5 at 2 months. They are almost the same length.
On the same note, the people that were evaluating 4 of 5 said really quietly, "she is below average intelligence" They touched very lightly on the subject of her "below average intelligence"It's okay guys..... i am very aware of the fact she has Down Syndrome. Actually, it's one of my favorite things about her. And i was pretty sure she would place about where she did, they were comparing her to "normal" kids. I am very excited that she is as high functioning as she is (I'm not a big fan of the term "high/low functioning" But how else would you describe it. )She is bright and capable and i absolutely adore her. I LOVE how she functions.

And a recipe for the day....
Raspberry jello
1 pkg cherry jello
1 can blueberry pie filling
1 sm can crushed pineapple
Mix jello, add blueberry and pineapple and chill

topping:
cream package cream cheese and 16 oz tub of sour cream sweeten with powder sugar, spread over the top and sprinkle with crushed walnuts

Kelli, You are very amazing. And Eva is amazing, and most definately a gift. I have to tell you, we were told we had a VERY high chance that Shaylee was going to be Down Syndrome, and it was a time of growth and understanding, and love, and excitement. I have a VERY strong love for people with disabilities, and chose special ed for a profession (pre-mommy). Anyway. Love Eva. And you. The things you do.......Your great. :)
