Glass is Totally Half Full

Today was a good day. To start off.... THE KIDS WENT BACK TO SCHOOL! Normally, I have found off track rather pleasant. No one has to get out of bed. No one has to get to school... This off track, we'd get up, eat, I'd give the older 3 a riddle to figure out (to keep their brains nice and ply able) They'd do a chore, feed their animals, we would go to the church and exercise, then the neighbor would come over and they would start on their pool project (I have always wanted a pool). It was nice. 4 of 5 had her tonsils out, and bounced back in 4 days. They were all really good. Until about day 20. I think they remembered that they enjoy a little argument here and there. So they made up for lost time.
I was kind of dreading the Monday missing assignment sheet from 1 of 5's teacher. So when it showed up, I held my breath, and thumbed through it....... And...... A A B A C (up from an F) A. What? What happened. I have never been so happy to see her grades before. I knew she could do it. I told her that if she can keep those grades, and bring the C to a B, she could stay on D track next year.
We have also taken on D & C. In all my years, I have never read D&C all the way through. I love to hear 3 of 5 read, he is really getting good at it. And I know it is helping the other 2.
AND PEAS! It is time for PEAS. My plan.... this weekend. It has been warm enough this month that the ground should be nice and soft. I'm just going to put them right in the garden and pull them out when it's time to plant the squash. Can you believe it.... its time to start thinking about the garden. I haven't even gotten to go sledding more than once.
So all in all. It's good.

Wow, they all look so happy out there digging that hole. :-) I am so glad to hear her grades had gone up especially since she wasn't turning her assignments in. What a nice turn around and hopefully she can continue to keep her grades that way if not better.
