Still Alive

I have made contact with Stamps, and she is still alive. A few of us were beginning to wonder you know......
She is sick. But she said if she was feeling better by tomorrow night, she would still come. Her flight gets here on Friday at 1 or so.
So we are still on for Thursday pot luck at the park. As of now. I'll update you on Friday.

my newst dilema

I am having computer issues...... That's why there was no post to this before. Now I'll try again.
So i started running 2 weeks ago. I went from struggling to get through .5 of a mile, to running 1.3 miles. I am on the treadmill for 13 minutes. I think i will start adding a minute every 3-4 days because what i am doing now, has become easy. I am on this low carb, lower sugar diet, and have taken off 3 lbs so far. Great, right? Well not exactly. I have now started loosing my milk. And since i am not going to give up nursing to get skinny again, i need to start adding more calories into my diet. I am a huge advocate of nursing. It takes me a long painful time to get started, and i am not going to give it up anytime soon. Even if i don't take off another lb until i do. So, does anyone have any suggestion to this problem? How do i keep loosing, with out loosing my milk supply.

Medium Well

All we have left to do is pad the walls floor and ceiling, and i will feel like it is complete.
Medium well, because it won't be well done with out the padding, medium rare was before the paint, and raw was before we started.
There are a few places that need a bit of touching up, but i can do that tomorrow. Can i tell you how bad my neck and shoulders hurt from looking up to primer then paint then tape, then untape the ceiling? OUCH.
DH is laying carpet tack and pad tonight, and will lay carpet tomorrow (Kristy, you hubby is welcome to come learn)

On My Mind Monday 7

First before what's on my mind. the room. All we have left is color and carpet. We primered and painted the ceilings and closet. So close, i can already picture what it will look like. We won't work on it tonight, i want to take the kids to the night out against crime at the rec center. But, tomorrow we will put the color on, and Wed. i will haul the kids with me to YW so DH can put in the carpet.

I want to talk "Circle of Sisters" First off. i have to say, I really really liked visiting teaching. What i didn't like was not having a partner that would initiate, plan a lesson, or call the sisters on our list, for the past 2+ years. So, it didn't get done as often as I'd like. (but, yes, every month it didn't get done, I would feel guilty) But i still loved it. And i loved a new list and companion every 6 months, so i could get to know the sisters in the ward. Especially since i have been in Primary or YW since I've lived in this ward. I'm not sure how i feel about this "circle" thing they started. They had me paired with my presidency first, and i Love them, but i see them 2 times a week already. And being in Primary and YW's you feel secluded anyway. So now on my new list, i am paired up with 3 other sisters, who have either 17 yr olds and older, or are done raising kids. I can hear the crickets chirping already. I know these women already, and it'll be fine, i can have a conversation with any of them. But my issue here is this. I'm the head of the circle. I don't want to be in charge of more stuff. I don't want to be chief, i want to be Indian. Please.... It's my turn to be asked to do things.
So, not a complaint. Just On My Mind.
Over and out

UDSF

I took 4 of 5 to the UDSF carnival that the Huntington Beach North Stake put on for the UDSF as part of their EFY trip. I think they have done this for our group for a few years now, but 4 of 5 wasn't old enough to go until this year. I only took 2, 5 and 4 of 5 with me, but after i got there i kicked myself for not bringing all of them. Well, 1 of 5 and dad had a baptism to go to, but 3 of 5 could have come. 4 of 5 wasn't very excited, she wanted to stay with me, but an hr into it, one of the youth leaders came and took her from me and played with her, then handed her off to one of the Laurels. The first one she was pair up with was pretty shy about the whole thing. Which, come to find out she was 14. I was the same way at that age.
My favorite part of the activity was getting to meet one of my blogger buddies http://www.sealbark.blogspot.com/ It's funny because i recognised her son from the picture on her blog. Then recognised her coming up to me because she recognised 4 of 5. She is great, mom of 6, primary presidency, her daughter with DS is 5 and her youngest is only 2-3 weeks older than 5 of 5. (we should seriously get our families together for a FHE) I also got to talk to one of the YW leaders. I felt the spirit as she told me what this activity meant to her and the youth of the Stake. I love to be in places where our kids touch people lives. I love when people can feel love for our kids, and want to be with them. It makes me happy. They make me happy. 4 of 5 makes my happy. All of my kids make me happy. They make me who i am.

Rad ish

I went out and weeded this evening. I came back with this. Thing dang near bit my hand off.
And oh my, are these things strong. I have never in my life seen anything like this.
We have been so busy finishing this room we haven't weeded for a few weeks, and i completely forgot about the radishes and carrots we planted. The lettuce we planted in the same area had gone to seed weeks earlier, so we just neglected the area. Anyway, i was a bit shocking to pull this puppy out.

Also, if you need squash... you know where to find me. This is after eating it, ant pawning it off on all the neighbors.

Free recipe Friday 9

I had kind of gotten out of focus these last few weeks. I just read Stamps blog and realized that people actually know that i do ON My Mind Mondays and Free Recipe Friday. That gives me reason enough to stay the course. Thanks for noticing. Buoyed my spirits. (can't believe i said that)

So, since i have been on this low sugar low carb thing..... I thought i would give you my new favorite breakfast. It is a whole Wheat blueberry pancake. I know.... pancake:so not low carb or sugar. But Wait. On the diabetic diet, any number of grams of fiber in a serving, takes that many grams of carbs out. So they cancel each other out. I ended up getting a wheat grinder for my birthday, and have used whole wheat not white flour religiously. And after 2-3 of these for breakfast, I'm am full until noon. And, they are great with out any syrup. I just butter them. And on this diet.... fat is okay. Plus it makes this sweet (from blueberry) and salty (from butter) yummyness.

So.

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup buttermilk or milk

1 egg

1 TBS sugar

1/2 tsp baking powder and soda

1 tps vanilla.

1 cup blueberries. I use fresh when i can get them, but any frozen berry will do.

I have also mashed 1 cup banana into it, and it is so good.
