Conference Is Awesome

There were many things I loved about conference this year. I really ought to take notes, so when I try to post my favorite parts I can reference them better.
Pres Packard gave a talk that is causing a stir in our news. He talked about gay marriage, and morality in general. Our local Fox station interviewed an advocate from the gay lesbian straight alliance this morning, and apparently he got from the talk, the Church was telling everyone that God hates them and who they are, and by giving that talk he was going to cause suicides. Good job Fox.... that's why I love ya. Good job creating a bigger rift and more hate. The Church also says the sex between non married couples is wrong. Where are all the people outraged about that? You might as well give every one equal air time.
I loved the talk by Holland in the Saturday AM session. I also loved the talk by Eyering talking about staying out of debt, and that having too much debt also takes away you agency. It is a topic dear to me, having gotten myself out of debt, and finding the liberation in that. Even living dirt poor, and find the happiness in that, that I was looking for in material possessions. We have never had a nice car, or nice furniture, or a beautiful house. As a matter of fact, we didn't even buy our first house until we had 3 kids. And the olny reason we were approved for that, was because we had no other debts.
But by far, my favorite talk was by Pres. Monson at the RS broadcast on Saturday. I love the stories he told about the dirty windows, and I always love a reminder about judging others.

I wish people would listen to the "whole" talk before they make judgements. Those from that SGLB alliance are only looking for judgements so they can have a better leg to stand on but he I remember him stating that it didn't mean "god" didnt' love them but that it was immoral. I loved Elder Thompsons (I think it was his name) about addiction in the pm sunday session. I just loved Conference as a whole this year. I never really not enjoy conference but there were so many strong issues this session. Unfortunately I missed Sat. because I fell asleep on accident. This cold has the better of me.
