I finally did it. I was tired of what my body was starting to do. No, it wasn't because i was pregnant, it was because I had stopped running, and started eating wrong. So, this morning after weeks of wrestling with the idea, I did it. I got back on my treadmill. I dreaded the thought of getting on and suffering through a mile. But, that didn't happen. I got on intending to walk 2 miles, 1/2 a mile into it, I thought this isn't too bad and picked up the pace to a fast jog slow run. I ended up doing 1 1/2 miles running. I could have kept going, but I decided to take it easy since I hadn't run in 8 weeks. I NEED to do this, to keep my blood sugar under control. And I think it will help in during delivery since I'm hoping to go natural this time. Maybe that'll keep this baby under the 9 lb mark. I will probably keep my running to about 3 miles, until I am too big, then I'll ease up and walk, but for now, I can run. The best thing about it, I HAVE to shower. No more letting the day get away before I get one.Here's another uplifting bit. For all of you that have little ones with DS, here's Morgan who is now 6 and in Kindergarten. This made me so happy. This is one of my favorite families, we have a few things in common, like our kids with DS are both #4, then we had 2 more after...... Such a cute family. I'm so proud of Morgan, and I think her mom is awesome. I'm sure it has a lot to do with her. I hope my 4 of 5 will be able to do this.

Running is a mental release for me. It really has nothing to do with the physical part, it makes me happier and a better mother.

I just started running again last week but it has been years for me, I am so out of shape! I was able to run 3/4 mile at 5.5 and had to walk to a mile at 3.2...you are WAY ahead of me....
