These are a Few of My Favorite Things

My boys. Well, here's one of them. Girls sitting
Yes, that is snow on the mountain behind our house.

Snow, and red and yellow leaves. Although those are harder to see.

Um, cold.

And not pictured, a baby that is finally asleep, after stirring all night. And a husband who turns 39 today. He is my favorite person, friends, my eternal companion and I love him.

Where Have You Been?

Between messes....
And a new baby, (she doesn't feel so new to me anymore. I know she is, but I feel like I have had her forever. I hope she stays little for awhile longer)

18 month old tantrums

4 yr old accidents, escaping, messes and school.
I have been busy. Laundry, meals, homework, housework (that I finally feel up to doing. It's amazing how good not being pregnant feels) and husband. I would say that I hope to be back to my normal blogging self soon, but I really like being too busy taking care of my home and family, to blog. I will keep updating, but maybe not the daily ritual I had before. I love busy.

What to do About the Neighbors

SO I'm just looking for a little advice. We have a couple of neighbor kids, that just moved in about 3 months ago. Very nice family. Problem is, the kids 1st grade and maybe 4th grade come over at least 4 times a day. Starting at 4. My kids get home at 4, we do homework, then chores, then it's usually time to eat. After dinner we will run errands or if it's shower days they do that, or we do things as a family. But there is a knock at the door every hr that evening, these kids asking if my kids can play. Even on Monday, we were out working in the yard, and they stood at the edge of the yard trying to play with the kids. Even after the kids explained our Monday FHE, they left and came back 15 minutes later. We finally had to go talk to them. Then yesterday and Tues. my kids were grounded for not making their beds, and coming home 30 minutes late. They came over every hr. until I explained to them that if the kids can't play it's for the whole day, and they would come over when they could play. I noticed that they don't hang out with the other neighbors they used to spend all day at. And them coming to our house is fairly new, like 2 weeks now. I don't want them to be ostracized from the neighbor kids, but I can see this getting really old really fast. And I don't want the parents thinking none of the neighbor kids want to play with their kids. But I think they just send the kids out to play, with out knowing where they are or what they are up to. They really are good kids, and even when I was telling them they didn't need to come over 4-5 times a day, the older one was very respectful, and responsive. Do I go talk to the parents?

Like, Don't Like. And Poking Fun at the Kids

So, I'm a big fan of puzzles. Like the way avid readers love to read, (although I do love a good book) I love to put together puzzles. I have taken to picking them up at DI. The hazard to this.... Spending 2 weeks putting it together, only to realize, it's missing a piece. (notice the cup down in the bottom left corner) Come on people, if it's missing pieces, just throw it away, don't donate it.... Of course my kids could have lost it, but they're pretty good about not touching unless they are helping. So what is wrong with this picture? I sent 3 of 6 in to tuck in his shirt and ask his dad for a tie. This is what he came back with..... Oh man, I didn't notice how messy my room was until I say this. Gimme a break, it's Sunday.

Like this..... Of course, her hair was pulled out 30 minutes later. It's amazing how quickly your "baby" grows up, when you have another one. Everyone has noticed how grown up she looked.

And last, don't like. I have been stepping on goats heads all weekend. They are all over my carpet. I guess it's that time of year. We're going to go out and get the yard taken down, tonight. We'll round up our poor excuse for this years garden, and reseed the lawn that grubs ate. I don't think we'll do more than a few plants next year, in an attempt to get on top of the weeds out there. Here's to more success next year.

2 weeks

I got a few pictures of 6 of 6 with her eyes open. We also had her 2 week appt today. Everything was perfect. We did her PKU and another bili level check. She was 7 lbs 15 oz still, which is good because she had put on over half a lb in 2 days.
My mom says she looks like my sisters new baby. I'd have to see a picture of him to compare.

5 of 6 has been having a hard time. Some of it, is just being 20 months. some of it is new baby. She went from being agreeable...... she would go to bed when she was tired, she was happy, you could turn her away from doing something she shouldn't and give her something else to do...... Now, everything warrants a tantrum.
She came up to me yesterday with weird stuff all over her face, and refused to let me take a picture of it,

When I chased her, it turned into a game

There we go. I think it's blue Skittle. I love this kid.
And I wanted to add. Did you see the news about the kid that threw back the foul ball? Can I just say how impressed I was at his reaction? I hope I can stay that calm in that situation. He knew that it was just a moment and she was just a little kid. Luckily, he was calm, he was on TV.

Incomplete

SO after looking over the post from yesterday, I noticed, only half of what I posted, actually posted. So what I was saying, was it was nice to not have to worry about how much time the baby was getting under lights. After last night, however, I have learned the down side to not having the lights. She was used to them. So, she was restless last night. SHe only slept more than and hr if she was sleeping on me. The end result, a tired me, and a sore neck. Nothing a little Ibuprofen didn't take care of, but it didn't touch the tired. I did get the swing out, and she seems to like that. We'll see how she does tonight. I really don;t mind getting up with her in the middle of the night. After 5 kids, you don't have the 1 on 1 time with the baby, unless you get up with them at 1, 3 5 and 7. Before the other kids are up. I can usually keep this up for about 6 weeks. So, my husband loves ties. I mean, really really loves ties. He gets at least 1, every DI trip. My girls have discovered a few things lately, while I feed the baby. One of which, is his tie collection. I knew they were up to something, it was quiet. But you can't do anything with a baby attached. This is what I found. Yesterday, it was 5 of 6's clothes strewn all over her bed room. Can't they just color. Not on the walls? Or play with blocks, and not throw them. Or read books, and not fight over the same book. I can totally manage 5 and 4 of 6, when they are single. But you put them together, and it's a whole different story. I'm hoping to get a better routine down in the next 2 weeks or so. I NEED routine.

11.7

We are done! Her biliruben was down to 11.7 today, she was back up to birth weight (a 10 oz gain in 2 days) SO I called homecare, to come get their stinkin lights. AND I am going to get the bassenette and swing out for her. It will be so nice, to just hold her. And not have to worry
