170$ Wart

Yup, you read it right. That is the going rate for a wart removal these days. You know how I know? 1 of 6 had this monster. Yes, literally, it made you shudder to look at it. It was a mutation, and it was mad. Trent had tried that Dr. Schols wart freeze remove thing a few times, unsuccessfully. It kind of died then came back, kind of died, came back bigger, kind of died, and came back the size of her finger tip. So, stupid me thought 'I'll just take her in to the ped. and have it frozen off, professionally.... You know the responsible parent thing to do. I was already mad about a 20$ co-pay for this thing. Then I get the bill. 170$. Yes, that is not a typo. One hundred seventy dollars. Insurance took care of 90 of it, but that is still outrageous. I would riot in the street. Is Obama Care going to fix this type of injustice? Are there other options out there? What in the Samhell is wrong with medical care, where they can get away with robbing us poor people. And we take it! we pay our co pays our detectable, and we smile. And nothing changes. And we do it again lining the pockets of those poor insurance companies. Anyway, be prepared to be reamed if you end up growing a wart. Or hope your child is confident enough to not care about an extra finger tip size growth growing out of their finger tip.

I had a large wart on my finger in college, and I started using that Aussie brand shampoo & conditioner, and it went away over a few months time, permanently!

$170 for wart removal is outrageous. I can't even imagine what it would have cost if you took her to a specialist, like a dermatologist. The cost of Health care is outrageous which is why I think we need reform but not Obama's idea of reform. It's unfortunate that the two parties can't just come together and think of what's better for all of us but instead blame it on each other for what's wrong.

I love the passion you have for everything:)

I agree with the whole insurance issue.

This post speaks to my heart! I don't want government run health-care, but the people who say that we don't need to change the system aren't the ones who are paying the equivelent of their house payment (like we are) to carry (inadequate)insurance every month. We can't even consider dental or optical...just having medical kills us. Then we seem to get extra fees in the mail, like your $170, on top of it. It's outrageous. It's ridiculous. It's infuriating. And we feel so helpless to do anything about it :-(

A similar wart situation happened with my teenage son. We went the laser route. But instead of burning it off with the high power laser we had a couple of lower level laser shots over a couple of weeks that shrunk it away. I think it took about 3 to 6 weeks when it was completely gone. Has not returned in 3 or 4 years. The thing I liked about this procedure is that there was no sore or skin damage or wound that could get infected.
