Is There Anything Else?

I was hoping to be at the end of the disaster. No such luck. This afternoon I blew up the pool and filled it so the water would warm through out the day, so we could have warm water for FHE tonight. At about 11:30 I sent 2 of 5 out to turn the pump off ( we have a well for our out door watering needs). Apparently he didn't. He just turned the spigot off. And subsequently, he burned out the motor. I keep thinking to myself, is this teaching me that I need to rely on my kids less, and just do things myself? It would make it so things would break a little less often. But in all actuality, I can't do everything myself. There is way too much to be done. Do we not do fun things? cut out all the extras so I can do things myself? Case in point, we found out what blocked up the drains. It was the bag closer thingy for a hamburger/hot dog bun bag. I wouldn't have put something like that down the drain. Not saying it wouldn't have happened if I just did the dishes all the time. But it would have been less likely. Is this just the consequences of having kids? I know I wouldn't have taken sharpie to the computer monitor, or kitchen table. How do we solve this. The pump motor, is an expensive fix. (see last post) We can't have the garden we have, or the size yard we have, with culinary water. We just can't afford it. Do we give up on nice things, like grass? I'm not at my give up point yet, but I'm feeling moments of despaired. And my kids are still little, they get more expensive when they need insurance, or wreck the car. What do you do? Can't give them back, or away to the zoo. Although, a mom can dream.....

Here are the promised hair cut pictures. Not as bad as it could have been. It could have been a pony tail, or to the scalp. But sad, none the less.

It's not as bad as I was imagining but I see where you said that it's too short to pull it back in a barrette.

When it rains, it pours. And, it might not be too expensive to use the magna water. We haven't gone over yet. Of course we don't do much grass watering and our garden is smaller so you may be able to make it through the summer.
