I Just Can't Today

Do anything. I got the crud that my girls had. The boys, every male in this house, avoided it. First 1 of 5, then 4 of 5, then 5 of 5, then me. 4 of 5 had both her ear drums burst. The first in 12 hrs after her antibiotics were started, the 2nd one about 24 hrs later. You could tell by the stuff that came out of it, that the infection was starting to clear. Everyday the sick gets a little worse. It started on Wed. with a little heaviness in my chest, then by Friday when my family got here, i was worn out. Luckily it didn't get full blown until this morning, so I could sing in Sacrament meeting on Sunday. I did take an Excedrin ( I know, but my OB said I could have an aspirin in case of emergency) at about 10 am so I could take my kids to Kennecott since that was our planned off track activity for Monday. I'm glad we don't have anything else planned until Friday. maybe I will feel better by then. It took 1 of 5 about a week to get better, 4 of 5 only about 2 days (I'm sure the antibiotics had a lot to do with that) and 5 of 5 about 5 days. I just don't fight things as well when I'm pregnant. SO I will give myself a full week.
I just wanted to tell my sister Kayla how grateful I was for her this weekend. Trent told me about all the things you were trying to do as mom and dad were packing to leave. Thank you again, for being so helpful, and keeping things a picked up as possible.
And as some of you know, I was just called as the Primary pianist. I am so excited, just what I wanted to be doing.

Tis The Season

4 of 5 woke up at 4 am last night crying. I went down, put her back to sleep went back to bed, only to wake up to her crying and 1 of 5 yelling, "stop crying" So I went back down and laid in the extra bed in there until she fell back asleep. It was not even close to as comfortable as my bed, so I went back upstairs and fell back asleep. within 15 minutes, she was crying again, by this time it was time for husband to get up and he went down to see what was happening. When he got into the shower she came up and climbed in bed with me and fell asleep. Only to be woken up by 3 of 5 yelling at 2 of 5 about wanting this cereal, and not that cereal. Luckily it was 8, so I wasn't as mad as I would have been, had it been 7, the usually time he starts up. She got up and took 2 bites of cereal and started cry pointing to her ear and saying ouch. I have to say, I was a bit relieved. As a mom, when your kid is crying in the middle of the night, I go through all the worst case scenarios. The ear infection is the lesser of the scenario. I was also pleased that is wasn't just allergies. That would be miserable. You pretty much suffer spring and fall. And last time I checked, Ash, Maple, and Willow were extremely high. SO I packed them up at 10 am, took her into see Dr. Allred, yup definitely an ear infection. Antibiotics should make it all better after 2 doses. Bad news is, I can feel it starting in my chest. Which is where hers started. Must be going around, my neighbor was there, my sister in law, and my neighbor said she saw one of her friends there too. Tis the Season for sick.

Caught the Bug

I have friends who make bows. I have friends that make BIG bows. I am not a lover of big bows.
My neighbor invited me over last month to show me how to make bows. It was fun, so I picked up a few spools of ribbon and made a few on my own. I quickly got hooked on the stuff. But I decided BIG bows were not the thing for me. I scoured the internet for little bow patterns and ran across a bunch of those curly type things. Still not a big fan. Then I found the bug. I love the bugs. The more I make, the more there are. Pink, blue, brown, black and white. I even made a few that match some of my girls outfits.

Boring

As you can tell from my lack of posts, life has been boring lately. There are no complaints in that statement. We're just enjoying slow off track laziness. It's been warm, so the kids have been out enjoying it. What else could you want. I went to my dr. appt. I missed my last one, so this was the first time I heard the baby's heart beat. 17 weeks. I will schedule my U/S to get a more specific due date. I have to be at least 17 week because I could feel the baby moving around as of last week. For awhile there, I was just getting fat, now I feel like I have a reason. 5 of 5 is officially a walker. She crawls if she has to get someplace fast, but she is usually walking. Which is nice, her pants look so much better. My family is coming for Easter, I enjoy cooking big holiday meals. It makes me happy. We will most likely celebrate the bunny side of Easter on Saturday, and reserve Sunday for the real reason for Easter.
As for off track activities, I plan on starting Friday, with a lunch at the park weather permitting. Next week, I'm thinking a Mon. trip to Kennecott, with Friday at the park. then on Monday, Tracy Aviary. I know they have a free Monday, but I can't remember if it's the 3rd or 4th Monday. I will check on that and make changes accordingly. If you have any free or REALLY low cost ideas, leave them as a comment so we can incorporate them into our off track activities.

Free Recipe Friday

You know that moment when you realize it's too quiet in the house? You yell out to one of the kids "what are you doing" and you get no reply? I decided to take the camera back to see what the 2 girls were doing. These are the Triscuts I eat before bed. I have been craving cheese, and they don't spike my fasting sugars. Looks innocent enough right? Well, not pictured.... the Triscuts they had jammed down the air vent next to where they are sitting.
So for my recipe, one of my favorite snacks.
Triscut cracker, I LOVE the garlic ones.
mash up an avocado and spread on cracker, with a slice of Swiss cheese and a dab of green Tabasco. Husband likes a slice of summer sausage on there too.
One of my other faves.... slice of sandwich ham, spread cream cheese on ham, place dill pickle quarter in middle and roll..... Sounds weird, but it really is good.

I'd also like to share something I found on another blog, I just love when people do these kind of things for our kids. I hope to be able do something like this in the future with 4 of 5, and some of the other kids and young adults in the community.

Recomend You Favorite Floor Product.

So, any of you that have been in my house, know what my kitchen floor looks like. It is not for the faint of heart. I'm talking about 1992 peel and stick tiles, some missing....... Now, I really reall really dislike cleaning them, because the before and after, are identical. I do it because 5 of 5's legs stay cleaner after they are done. Not by much, but a little. Here's the situation. husband was pulling some plumbing out to replace old with new, in order to put in the sink for our up stairs bathroom. Upon entering the wall, he discovered a large crack down the main drain of our home. This will set us back all the money we were going to do our kitchen floor with. SO, these floors now have to last us through the next year, many be more, depending on what other surprises this old house has in store. So I would really like to get some of this 20 yr old dirt off the floor, that pine sol doesn't touch. Any suggestions?
